Lisa Suriano
Company Nutritionist
Lisa Suriano is a certified culinary-nutritionist holding a Masters degree in Nutrition and Food Science and specializing in food service management. She has worked as both Director of Operations and Team Nutritionist for New York City based private schools and corporate food service companies since 2005. Lisa founded an international nutrition education program, Veggiecation, which introduces children to the delicious world of vegetables.
As a school food service expert, Lisa served on the board of directors as Co-Chair of the New York Coalition for Healthy School Food, a non-profit that works in partnership with New York City’s Department of SchoolFood to improve the health of New York state students.
Ms. Suriano has been a part of the Lessing’s Food Service Management team since 2012. She works with our corporate, university, private and public school and emergency public food service programs, providing menu/product advisement, recipe development and analysis, as well as, dietary guidance for all of our dining customers.
Lisa is very passionate about educating others about effective and sustainable ways to maintain and improve their personal wellness. She has been featured in a selection of national and regional media, including traditional print and broadcast as well as online news and social media outlets such as Martha Stewart Living, Prevention Magazine and Women’s Health. Featured broadcast segments include NBC Weekend Today in New York and WPIX Morning News, where Lisa shared with viewers healthy recipes and discussed how viewers can incorporate nutrient dense food choices into their diets. Lisa has also made broadcast appearances on NY1, The Wendy Williams Show, News 12 Brooklyn, News 12 New Jersey and New York.
